And the Beryl guy is... a super leader! And Ildria isn't a comedienne.

Before anyone asks: Yes, in Merdack's world the word "pack" refers to very large communities (though Beryl's pack is an exceptionally big one) and they have their own hierarchies there. It's not like Beryl looks after them on his own.
Secondly, Beryl is a southern wolf, they are maned and sometimes very colorful, though his mane is not supposed to be that purple. Plus Fladara has never actually seen him, just heard stories.
And thirdly (is that even a word?) he didn't really gather the pack, he took over other leaders' packs. Like his grandfather and the previous ruler of Nova valley. But he's still to be taken seriouly.
